This year’s Spring/Summer runways were dominated by floral bouquets. “Florals for spring? Ground breaking”, as Miranda Priestly would say. Yes, floral for spring is not a new idea and knowing that’s what we’ll be wearing isn’t new either, it is the update in floral that gets us excited – the bold colors and the interesting fabrics.
This SS17, Trenery embraces ‘Modern Folk’ with a strong red, vibrant floral paisley print. The distinctive teardrop pattern has become well-know in the Western World and is used on everything; from haute couture to a whole range of everyday clothing pieces. And since the 70s power print is officially back and is taking over, this is how I wear floral-paisley:
The perfect balance between the 70s and now
Denim with a bold print is always a good idea. It always gives a casual-cool ensemble. The boyfriend jeans and paisley-floral combo is effortless and gives the perfect folkloric look when paired with rustic coloured accessories such as brown.
If there is one thing I love about Trenery, it is the constant quality and craftsmanship. The subtle detailing and super-soft finish in their denim pieces is simply perfect. This non-stretch organic denim is the prefect shade indigo and pairs well with black & navy. A denim jacket is a wardrobe staple, it works with everything! A darker shade jacket paired with ochre, navy or red will keep you modern and on-trend this season.
Make a statement by wearing a bold colour
The key to getting floral-paisley right is keeping it simple. This means choosing one statement piece and using the print accessory to complement your look. I went for a linen jersey in the colour of the season, red. The colour red has always been an iconic one for fashion, this is how you make a statement, and it is the color of a woman who is in charge!
Nothing catches the eye like a busy pattern with a matching bold color. A simple accessory like a print scarf will tie the look together and still give you a relaxed and sophisticated look.
Trenery ‘Modern Folk’ is a polished take on Boho. The folkloric dressing is polished with smart silhouettes and clean, compact shapes. What are you wearing this season?
