Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Joburg SS16 came and I conquered the first 3 days by wearing 3 bold colours in a row. BLUE, RED and GREEN.
Bold colours have never been my go-to, I always go for something less shocking and easy to pair with anything. But for fashion week, I knew I wanted to try something new and that was to wear bold colours. I wanted to fill in my colouring book with amazing colours.
DAY 1
To kick start #MBFWJ16, I wore a sky-blue jumpsuit made by my mother many years ago. This was the first jumpsuit that my mother ever made for me. Flared pants and a tight bustier area with amazing frilled details – I paired this jumpsuit with a comfortable pair of light brown snakeskin heels (FASHION WEEK RULE NUMBER 1 – WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES!)
DAY 2
For Day 2, I coloured in with a fire red jumper made by mother. This is by far one of my favourite creations that she has ever made for me. The details of this jumper are absolutely exquisite- a silver zipper in front and side pockets to complete it. I paired the jumper with a black & silver pair of heels which were equally comfortable as the shoes from day 1
DAY 3
To complete my MBFWJ coloring book, I went with a full pine green look. Not in jumpsuit form but a pair of tight pants and a knit that matched. For day 3, I went with a very simple street style look that could be worn anywhere and everywhere. Although it was simple, the bold colour made it stand out and so did the small details – the brown shoes and the black bag with a chain strap.
Wearing bold colours and prints for me will always be a challenge but it is one I intend to take on now and then because they suggest youth, energy and vibrant living!

Hi Thando,
Thank you very much. I would’ve loved to you meet you x
Hi Mpho, I loved your fashion week looks! I have 2 questions
1. Where in SA do you buy your COS items?
2. I love your hair, how do you keep it sleek like that?
Thank You Brittany xx
I get my COS items at 32 Clothing and to keep my hair flat, I use L’Oreal hair mousse.
I saw that green look on Topshops Instagram, I loved it! And the green combo with your blogger friend, beautiful. I love the 2 of you together
Thank you so much Dimpho xx
